Browse this page and look at this weeks
project. Go to bubbl.us.
Create bubbles (flow chart) like shown below here. Copy and paste the steps into
the correct order on your flow chart. They have been placed into 4 sections to
help you rearrange in the correct order easier.
Intro/Bubbl.us
- Browse the page to look at project
expectations.
- Go to Bubbl.Us and create flow
chart that shows the steps.
- Export the flow chart as a JPEG and
submit into DropBox.
- Think about a question to survey
others about.
PollEverywhere
- Print 1 copy of your poll off Poll
Everywhere. And go home and login to spread word on Facebook.
- Go to PollEverywhere.
- Click on Create Your First Poll.
- Until 15 people have taken, my
poll, I skip to Step 6 and work on Tagxedo
- You need 15 people to take your
poll. (STAR classes are a great place to accomplish this.)
- Once 15 people have taken my poll,
I go to Step 4 Kid's Zone Create a Graph.
- Add your survey question to
PollEverywhere.
Kids' Zone Create a Graph
- In Kid's Zone Create a Graph,
create pie chart over results.
- Copy and paste your .pdf chart file
into our Shared Dropbox folder.
- Follow steps to download your pie
chart as .pdf file.
Tagxedo
- Bring printed sheet to me.
- In Tagxedo, create a visual
frequency word graphic over a Web 2.0 tool.
- Save and print Tagxedo.

Poll Everywhere- 30 Minutes/30 Points

Essential Question-
How can I use online tools to survey? How can I create and give an online poll.
How can cell phones be useful in a classroom?
Submit:
Nothing (Since you are using my class
account, I will be able to grade out of there.)

You are going to
create an online survey question that people will be able to take on the
computer or via text message. The question you create can be just for fun or for
school use. You may have people take the survey as an activity in class, during
STAR, at church, your athletic team... ANYONE, ANYTIME.....
- Go
to
www.polleverywhere.com.
- You
will not have to create an account. Click on Create a Poll.
- After create your survey question, you should be able you
can send out the link for your survey on Facebook....
You can print the
sheet and have people take via text message... You have students bring their
cell phones and take in class.... It is up to you, but you need to have at
least 15 people take your survey.
- As
people take your survey, it will tally the results on Polls Everywhere. Keep
checking the site until you get 15 people to take. You will need these
results to complete the next section.
4) Creating a
Graph Online- 15 Minutes/15 Points

graphs/charts on the Web?
Submit:
During this Step 3, you will download a pie
chart that you will submit in Step #4.

- I
know that the Polls Everywhere site gives you a column graph to show your
results, but you need to make a pie chart to show your results.

Follow the steps below.
- Go to
the
Kid's Zone Create a Graph.
(You may want to right-click on this link and open in a new tab so you can
have the directions in one window and the website open in another.)
Step 1
Chart Type- Select pie.

Step 2
Design - Hit the design tab, select gradient and change background color
if you like. |
Step 3
Data- Hit the Data tab, on this tab you can add title (correct
capitalization), change number of slices, add slice names (Item label),
votes on survey (value) they received on Polls Everywhere and change the
slice colors.

| Step 4 Labels - You
can change whatever you want. |
Step 5 Preview -
You can see if you want to go back and change anything. |
Step 6 Print and
Save - Hit Download. Depending on what browser you are using,
downloading may be different. Figure out how and where to download. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOU
DOWNLOAD IT! Email it to yourself to be safe.

5) Submitting
Assignment Into DropBox- 5 Minutes/5 Points

Essential Question- How can I
turn assignments into a shared folder?
Submit:
Using the shared DropBox folder to turn in
your assignments.

Combined as STEP 4 Part of Kids Graph Tutorial
- Last week,
you set-up your shared folder. You will use it for the first time today.
- Go find
where you saved your graph, right-click on it and copy it.
- Then, go to
task bar and use the little blue box to open your Drop Box.


- It will
open your Dropbox. (Mine is shown on right.) Double-click the folder that
has your name on it. That is the only folder we share. Right click and paste
your assignment into the folder.
- The
document will sync to the folder on my computer and I will be able to grade
it out of the DropBox. I will contact you if I didn't receive by the end of
the week.
6)
Create a Tagxedo- 10 Minutes/10 Points

create a visual representation of Frequency Words?
Submit:
Print a copy and give to teacher.

- Go to the
website
and research a NEW Web 2.0 tool that interests you.
- Go to
Google,
type in the Web 2.0 tool you selected and search for an interesting
article on the Web 2.0.
- Once you have found an
article on the tool, copy the web address and go to
Tagxedo.
- Click on Create and let it
load.
- Click on Load and paste in
you web address.
- Hit Submit.
- Go and play with settings
to make yours unique.
- Click Save> 16 MGP> and
save into your DropBox folder.
- Then go back and print.
- Write your name on it.
- Bring me the printed copy.

- Next
week we will use
www.brainflips.com
- Go to
the site. Hit "Not a Member" Sign-Up.
- Enter your info. Use the
class email and password to register for new account.
- Your account has to be
confirmed through email. It will send that confirmation email to your
teacher, so we will be ready to use site next week.
