
Movie Step #4- 2 Column/Bar Graphs
Rubric Requirements:

Must have 2 bar/column graphs in Excel.
Both graphs must have chart titles with correct capitalization & spelling.
Both graphs must have x and y axis titles.
Creating your Excel Graphs
1) Each column in Excel must have a column heading. Excel uses as reference point to make charts.
2) You need to highlight 2 columns for single bar graph. (shown right is what I had to highlight to make a chart that showed Movie Budgets.) I had to
3) Go to Insert>Charts and choose Column Chart.
Adding Chart Titles
1) If your chart is selected another ribbon will show up at the top for Chart Tools.
Under Chart Tools> click on
the Layout Tab (shown right)> Chart Titles> Centered Overlay Title> Type the title of your
chart…. Make sure it is capitalized like a title of a book.
Adding Axis Titles
1) If your chart is selected another ribbon will show up at the top for Chart Tools. Under Chart Tools> click on the Layout Tab (shown right)> Axis Titles> ADD PRIMARY HORIZONTAL> Choose one and add your title. Make sure it is capitalized like a title of a book.2) Do the same step again but ADD PRIMARY VERTICAL> Choose one and add your title. Make sure it is capitalized like a title of a book.
Moving Charts to a New Tab
2) Select Move Chart. (shown right)
3) Select New Sheet and hit OK.4) The tab the bottom is called Chart 1. Rename the tab by right-clicking on it and rename it as the topic of your graph.
REPEAT STEPS CREATING A 2nd GRAPH OVER A DIFFERENT PIECE OF DATA IN EXCEL. DON'T FORGET TO ADD AXIS LABELS, CHART TITLES, MOVE TO NEW TAB and RENAME TAB.
