1) Students will get into partners.
One student from Miss Rosborough's class and one
from. Mr. Steuer's class. That will match a 7th
grader with an 8th grader.
2) As a class, we will watch
Mr. Davis introduce the PBL. Mr. Davis is asking
students to write a newsletter that will help new
7th grade students.
3) Students will skim that paragraph
looking for things the know from the
letter. As a class we will complete a large Know
list.
4) Then, students will complete the
I Need to Know column, so they can research answers
to their questions.
5) Student will create
questions and find answers that will be included
in their newsletters. When finished, students must
get their papers initialed before they start on
newsletter.
6) Teachers will show examples of
newsletters pointing out the qualities of a good
newsletter. A creative title, headlines that
standout, aligned textboxes and relative clipart are
a few points.
7) Students will begin developing
newsletters. Teachers will begin meeting with small
groups and having help sessions.
