Student Computer
Services
Michelle Starr and
Andrew Geotz have started a
consulting business to locate and
purchase computer systems for
students on campus. They use the
Internet to shop for the best prices
on system components. They decide to
prepare a one-page flyer to
advertise their services. The
general content should describe a
new computer system and include
computer-related clip-art images for
interest. You will use the World
Wide Web to find the information for
the flyer, and then create it using
Word.
- Click the links
to
Dell Computers,
PCMall, or
CompUSA to find a computer
system that you feel will
interest SCS clients. Print the
pages that describe the system
you will include on your flyer.
- Start Word and
check your screen to make sure
your settings match those in the
tutorials.
- Design your
flyer using the techniques you
learned in Tutorial 4.
- Use WordArt to
present the company name
attractively on the flyer.
- Insert a
clip-art image of a computer,
and enter text with the
specifications of the computer
system you found on the Web.
- Wrap the text
around the clip-art image.
- Use drop caps,
columns, and symbols or
typographical characters as
appropriate.
- Add a page
border of your choice around the
flyer.
- Save the
document as SCS Flyer on your
Word Internet Assignments disk.
- Preview the
document, and then print it.
- Close the
document.
