LESSON PLAN #1- The Olympic Flag

Read the instructions below and follow them very carefully.

Getting Started..

• Open Excel
• Click on FILE-SAVE:
• Save in: YOUR FOLDER
• Filename: OLYMPIC

The 2008 Olympics

• Click on E1-Type: 2008
• Hit TAB-Type: Olympics
• Highlight cells E1 and F1 & click on the down arrow next to "A" on the format toolbar
• Color: BLUE

The Blue Ring

• Click in B3-click on the "paint can" down arrow on the format toolbar-choose BLUE
• Hold the CTRL key & click on these cells: B7, A4, A5, A6, C3, C7, D5, D6
• Click on the BLUE "paint can"

The Yellow Ring

• Highlight (click&drag) B8, B9, B10. Color: Yellow
• CTRL & click: C6, C11, D11- Color: Yellow
• Highlight: E8, E9, E10- Color: Yellow

Use the same procedures as above to complete the Black, Red and Green Rings

The Black Ring

D4, E3, E7, F3, F7, G5, G6

The Red Ring

G4, H3, H7, I3, I7, J4, J5, J6

The Green Ring

F8, F9, F10, G11, H6, H11, I8, I9, I10

The Host City

• Click on E13 & type: Bejing, China
• Highlight the cell & click on the down arrow next to "A" on the format toolbar
• Color: RED

Page Set-up

• Click on FILE-PAGE SETUP. Choose LANDSCAPE.
• Click on the MARGINS tab. Check HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL at the bottom of the window.
• Click on HEADER/FOOTER tab. Click CUSTOM HEADER. Type you and your partners name in the LEFT section & click OK.

Go File- Save As…- "LastNameFirstInitial" OLYMPICS! !
